Personal and Location Data

Valley Development does not collect or use any personal data that may be used to identify, track, or contact you, unless you have intentionally provided it. You can choose not to provide certain information, but please realize you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features.

Our apps make use of location-based features such as mapping and sharing outdoor fitness activities. To provide these location-based features, we may collect, use and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your mobile device. This data is ONLY used and processed on the device itself at your discretion. Only if you decide to send your recorded trip via Email, Facebook, Twitter or other services, it will leave your device.

Our apps allow the user to share fitness data such as trip information and GPS tracks by email, posting it to Facebook or Twitter or uploading it to 12sports.com. This information will only be shared with the users explicit permission by enabling the corresponding share options. If the user posts fitness data to Facebook or Twitter, GPS trail data will be stored using Amazon Web Services. This data is stored for the purpose of providing a link with the Facebook or Twitter posts that will show the trail in Google maps. Your track is accessible only through your personal track link that is part of the posting. If the user chooses to share a track by email, this email will be delivered by our server. The corresponding log-files will be stored for six weeks and are used for statistical analyses.

We do not provide any personal data (e.g. email address, height, location at date/time… ) to third parties, except as required by law or with the explicit consent of the user. Any disclosure of details to third parties shall be subject to the explicit consent of the user, unless such disclosure is required by law.

Our apps allow the user to register with 1-2-Sports (12sports.com) in order to enable the upload and download of fitness data from the app to1-2-Sports. User data that is entered in the registration process will be sent to 1-2-Sports and will not be stored by Valley Development. Please see the Privacy Policy of 1-2-Sports regarding all data that you upload to 1-2-Sports.

Based on the map data that our apps load from OpenStreetMap and Bing Maps (Windows Phone apps) it is possible to estimate the rough location of the users IP address.

Email and Logfiles

If you use the possibility to send yourself an email with your track, this email is send through the internet using our mail transport agent (server). This server delivers email to your mailbox. We keep logs of the email server for no longer than six weeks. Apart from operational log files, email addresses are not saved in any database.

Apple HealthKit

If you use the possibility to save your workouts in HealthKit (separate permission is asked), our app will generate a record with your performance data (distance, timeframe, type of activity, burned energy) and save it in your personal HealthKit store on the phone. The application can not read workout data from HealthKit and does not request permission to do so. You can enter your weight and height in the settings of the application. These values are not shared with HealthKit or any other application, nor are they in any way sent over the internet; they stay on the device and are solely used for calorie calculation.
